Trust and safety
What we will check, and what we won’t
Plenty of trade sites are vague about this, which is how people end up disappointed. Here is how MyFloorPro is meant to work, including the parts we cannot promise.
Your details
Enough to decide, without handing over your number
Both sides need enough information to work out whether the job suits them. Neither side needs the other's phone number to do that. Contact details go out when you have both agreed you want to talk.
What a retailer sees
- The flooring you lay and the products you know
- The weeks you have free and the areas you cover
- Crew size, gear and whether you do your own prep
- The licences and insurance you have told us about
- Any check we have done, and what exactly we checked
What an installer sees
- Suburb, postcode and state
- What the job involves and what it needs
- Roughly when it is happening
- Whether it is domestic or commercial
- Photos or documents with the identifying bits taken out
Held back until you both agree
- Phone numbers and email addresses
- Websites and social media
- Business and trading names, where they would let someone go round us
- The exact street address and who the customer is
- Documents that have not had identifying details removed
These go out once you have both said you want to talk and the introduction is confirmed. The retailer covers that step, never the installer.
Suburb, postcode and state are visible from the start, and that is deliberate. No installer can tell you whether a job suits them without knowing roughly where it is. What stays back is the detail that would let someone skip round us, or that identifies a customer.
How we intend to run it
The rules we are building to
Verified means we actually checked
If a profile says something has been checked, it will say what we checked and nothing more. Installers cannot mark themselves verified, and we will never describe everyone on the site as verified. Where a licence is just something someone typed in, the profile will say that too.
You cannot buy a better spot
Access to work is not for sale. Nobody can pay for a higher position in the results, more alerts, an earlier look at a job, a badge, or first refusal on anything. If we ever sell tools, they are for your paperwork.
We take no cut of your labour
We do not take a percentage of what an installer charges. The retailers that need installers pay for the introduction, and the money for the flooring work stays between the two parties.
No made up activity
No invented installer numbers, no fake jobs, no reviews we wrote ourselves, and no phantom availability to make an area look busier than it is. If your area is quiet, it will look quiet.
You deal with each other, not us
We introduce two businesses. We are not the head contractor, not an employer, not a labour hire company and not holding the money. You each stay responsible for your own checks, your own contract and your own site obligations.
We say what is built and what is not
Anything that is not working yet says so, on every page. Prices get published before anyone is asked to pay, so nobody gets charged for something they never saw a price for.
Reviews and disputes
Reviews are still being worked out
The plan is reviews that go both ways, only from jobs actually done through MyFloorPro, and only showing once you have both submitted or the window closes.
There are no reviews on the site because there have been no jobs yet. How moderation and disputes work is still being written, and we will publish it before reviews are switched on.
A good rating is not a guarantee about anybody. Profiles, job details and reviews are there to help you make your own decision, and you each stay responsible for your own checks, contracts, insurance and site obligations. The full policies are being finished alongside the terms and the privacy policy.
If something looks off
Tell us and we will look at it
A profile, a job, a message, anything that does not seem right. Email us and a person will read it.
Join the Founding Network
It is free, and it takes a few minutes. Set your profile up, tell us the areas and the flooring that matter to you, and you will hear from us before any of it opens.
