What it costs

Free for installers. Free for retailers during the beta.

The pilot opens as a free beta: flooring retailers pay nothing while it runs, and the plan is around three months. Once fees begin, a retailer pays a single fixed fee each time an introduction goes ahead. It is not a percentage, and it does not go up because the job is bigger. Installers do not pay to find or win work at any point. Right now nobody is paying anything, because it is not open yet.

Nothing is charged yet

No paid service is switched on and there is no dollar amount on this page. We will publish the fee before anyone is asked to pay it.

How the fee works

One fixed fee for each introduction

Once fees begin, a flooring retailer pays one fixed fee each time an introduction goes ahead. It is not a percentage, it does not change with the size of the job, and we take no cut of the installer's labour. Nothing is charged during the free beta, and we will publish the fee before anyone is asked to pay it.

  1. 01Post the job, or search who is free
  2. 02Suitable installers hear about it
  3. 03Interested ones respond
  4. 04Both say yes
  5. 05Swap details and talk

A Confirmed Introduction is the point where the retailer and the installer have both said they want to talk, and we hand over the contact details. The fee applies there and nowhere else, and while the founding beta runs it applies to nobody.

Installers

Nothing to pay to take part

Taking part is meant to stay free for installers.

Installers

  • Free to join the Founding Network
  • Free to hear about jobs that suit you
  • Free to put up your availability and be found
  • No lead fees
  • No introduction fees
  • No commission on your labour
  • Optional admin tools may be offered separately later

Never charged for

  • Lead fees
  • Introduction fees
  • Success fees
  • Commission on your labour
  • A higher spot in the results, or an early look
  • Putting up your availability
  • Hearing about a job that suits you
  • The checks we carry out
  • Taking part at all

That is what we are building for the pilot, not a promise about every price forever.

Admin tools we have thought about

Does not exist

A monthly subscription for the paperwork side of your business is something we have kicked around. If we build it, it is for running your books, not for getting you closer to work.

  • Calendar
  • Crew scheduling
  • Quotes and invoices
  • Variation templates
  • Insurance and licence reminders
  • Somewhere to keep documents
  • Photos of your work
  • Basic reporting

If it ever happens, the price gets published first.

Flooring retailers

Free during the beta. One fixed fee after.

Retailers will be the paying side once fees begin. They fund the site through one fixed introduction fee, rather than us taking a cut of the installer's labour. While the founding beta runs, they pay nothing at all.

Retailers

  • Free to join the Founding Network
  • Free while the founding beta runs, planned at around three months
  • Free to post jobs, search, invite and shortlist, during the beta and after it
  • Once fees begin, one fixed fee for each introduction that goes ahead
  • The same fee every time
  • Nothing based on the value of the job
  • No cut of the installer's labour
  • The amount gets published before anyone pays it
  • Extras and monthly software may follow later

Costs you nothing

  • Joining the Founding Network
  • Setting up your business profile
  • Telling us where you usually need installers
  • Telling us the flooring work you need covered most
  • Posting a job you need covered
  • Looking through who is available
  • Sending invitations and making a shortlist

The one thing you pay for

Not switched on

One fixed fee for each introduction

You only pay once you and the installer have both said you want to talk and we hand over the contact details. It is the same fee every time. It is not a percentage of the job and we take no cut of the installer's labour.

Might come later

Extras, only when you want them
Things like getting a short notice job in front of installers quickly, or asking our team to help find someone.
Monthly software, if we build it
Scheduling, job sheets, your own installer list. Separate from introductions, and no lock-in.

The founding beta

Free for flooring retailers while the beta runs

When the pilot opens, it opens as a free beta. Flooring retailers pay nothing to use the marketplace while it runs, and the plan is to run it for around three months. No card needed. The dates and the final terms are not settled yet, and nothing moves from free to paid without us telling you first.

How the free beta works

Not signed off yet

“When the pilot opens, it opens as a free beta. Flooring retailers pay nothing to use the marketplace while it runs, and the plan is to run it for around three months.” Here is what that means in practice. None of it is final until we publish the offer terms.

  • The free beta covers flooring retailers using the marketplace in the ordinary way: posting jobs, being matched with installers, alerts, invitations and introductions.
  • The plan is to run it for around three months from the day the pilot opens. We will confirm the dates when it starts.
  • No payment card is needed at any point during the beta.
  • Installers pay nothing during the beta, and ordinary taking part is meant to stay free for them after it.
  • The beta is there to prove the matching, build up coverage area by area, and find the problems while nobody is paying.
  • Any pricing that follows gets published before the beta ends. Nothing moves from free to paid without us telling you first.
  • It does not promise a suitable installer will be free in your area, or that a posted job gets a response.

The money for the actual work

That stays between you two

We take no cut of what the installer charges. The retailer and the installer contract with each other, and the money for the flooring work never comes near us.

We charge retailers for the introduction, and we may sell software later. We are not holding anyone’s money, we do not employ installers and we do not pay them.

Still open

What we haven’t worked out yet

  • The amount of the introduction fee
  • The exact dates of the founding beta
  • What any software would cost, and which bits you would pay for only when you use them
  • How site measure bookings would work and what they would cost
  • Refunds, cancellations and what happens in a dispute
  • Whether we build installer tools at all

Where this stands. The structure, the fee and the offer terms still have to get through testing with founding members and a legal review. Nothing on this page is a contract, and none of the pricing has been signed off yet.

Questions about money

The fine print, plainly

What does an introduction cost?

Nothing during the free beta. Once fees begin it is one fixed fee, the same whatever the job is worth. We have not settled on the amount and will publish it before anyone is asked to pay it.

How long is the beta free for?

The plan is around three months from when the pilot opens, free for flooring retailers the whole way through. We will confirm the dates when it starts, and tell you before it ends what happens next.

Why is it free?

Because the matching has to prove itself first. The beta is for showing that a posted job reaches the right installers, building up coverage area by area, and finding the problems while nobody is paying.

Will I get a bill when the beta ends?

Not without knowing it is coming. Any pricing that follows gets published before the beta ends, and nothing moves from free to paid without us telling you first. No card is needed during the beta, so there is nothing on file to charge.

Do installers pay?

No. No lead fees and no introduction fees, during the beta or after it. Once fees begin, the retailer pays.

Does an introduction mean the job is on?

No. It means you have each other's details and can talk properly. You still have to agree on the work and the rate between you.

Would paying for tools get me more work?

No, and we will not build it that way. If we make admin tools, they are for your calendar, quotes, documents and records. They would never buy a better spot in the results, more alerts, an earlier look at work, a badge or any sort of priority.

If something here does not add up, tell us. We would rather hear it now.

Join the Founding Network

It is free, and it takes a few minutes. Set your profile up, tell us the areas and the flooring that matter to you, and you will hear from us before any of it opens.
