For installers
Suitable work comes to you
MyFloorPro is being built so that when a retailer posts a job that matches what you lay and where you work, you hear about it, even if you have not touched your availability. Respond if you are interested, leave it if you are not. Taking part is meant to stay free for installers.
How you hear about work
The job can find you, or a retailer can
Two ways in, and only one of them needs anything from your calendar. Both are being built for the pilot.
The main way
A posted job finds you
A retailer puts up a job: the flooring, the area, the dates and what is involved. MyFloorPro checks it against what you lay, the sort of sites you work on, the areas you cover and what the job needs, along with your profile and, where we know it, when you are free. If it suits you, we let you know, and you decide whether to respond. You do not need an up to date calendar for that.
The extra way
Retailers find you through Capacity Radar
Put up the weeks you want to fill and retailers planning ahead can see someone suitable has room, then invite you. Worth doing when a job falls over and you have a week going spare, and it sharpens the matching. It is extra, though: leaving your calendar down does not stop a matched job reaching you.
How you would hear about a matched job, whether that is in the app or by email or text, is part of what we are still building, and founding members get a say in it. Nothing is sent today.
The money side
You are never charged to find or win work
The retailers that need installers pay for the introduction, so you don’t. Nothing on this list ever comes out of your pocket.
- Lead fees
- Introduction fees
- Success fees
- Commission on your labour
- A higher spot in the results, or an early look
- Putting up your availability
- Hearing about a job that suits you
- The checks we carry out
- Taking part at all
What you agree with a retailer stays between the two of you. We are not holding the money, we are not employing you and we are not a labour hire company.
About the fee the retailer pays: when a retailer decides it wants to talk to you, that is free for the retailer during the founding beta, and once fees begin the retailer pays us a fixed fee. Either way it is the retailer’s side, not yours. It is not a discount off your work, and you do not lose a cent because the beta is free. What you agree for the flooring work is yours in full.
You set the terms
Your work, your areas, your calendar
The weeks you want to fill
Put your availability up when it suits you. If a job falls over and you have a week going spare, that is worth telling retailers about. When you are booked solid you put up nothing, and a job that matches what you do can still find you.
The work you actually want
You pick the flooring and the sort of jobs you take on. If you only want commercial vinyl, or domestic timber and stairs, that is a setting, not something you have to explain to anyone.
How far you will drive
Set your areas and your travel distance. An alert about a job three hours away is no use to anyone, so you should not be getting them.
What you say yes to
An alert or an invitation is only that. Leave it, or knock it back, and nothing happens to you. Putting up your availability is not a promise to take whatever turns up.
Your profile
More than a name and a phone number
A retailer needs to work out whether you suit the job before anyone picks up the phone. That is what the profile is for.
- What flooring you lay
- Carpet, sheet vinyl, timber, prep work, whatever you actually do
- Products you have worked with
- The brands and systems you know your way around
- Areas you work in
- Where you are based and how far you will drive
- Crew size
- On your own, or a few crews out at once
- Equipment
- Welders, grinders, moisture meters and the rest of it
- Floor prep
- Grinding, levelling, moisture testing
- When you have room
- The weeks you would like to fill, if you want to put them up
- Licences and insurance
- What you hold, including site cards
The work you can list
- Carpet
- Sheet vinyl
- Vinyl plank and LVT
- Timber
- Laminate and hybrid
- Floor preparation
- Resin and coatings
- Rubber and specialist
Coming with the pilot
What you will be able to do
Today you can register, fill in your profile and tell us how you work. The rest follows when the pilot opens.
- Hear about jobs that suit you
- Put up your free weeks when it helps
- Tell a retailer you are interested
- Get invitations to look at
- Say yes or no
- Swap details once the retailer confirms
Registering does not get you work. What it does is give the matching something to work with, make you visible to retailers that are looking, and let you decide which jobs are worth your time. Whether you take a job, and what you charge for it, stays between you and the retailer.
Separate, and optional
Tools for running your own books
If we ever build paid tools, they are for the admin side of your business. They would not get you closer to work.
- Calendar
- Crew scheduling
- Quotes and invoices
- Variation templates
- Insurance and licence reminders
- Somewhere to keep documents
- Photos of your work
- Basic reporting
This is an idea at this stage, nothing more. It does not exist and there is no price on it. Paying for it would never buy you a better spot in the results, more alerts, an earlier look at work, a verification badge or any sort of priority. Access to work is not for sale. See what it costs.
